Translation

Opening:

Its raining, Its raining
A drop here, A drop there,
A few here, More there.

MAin song:

These tiny rain drops,
Wish I could collect them.

Wish I could bead them together
With a thread taken out of lightning.

I believe that the bird "ChakkaraVaham" drinks the rain-water
straight from the sky.
Wish I could be that bird.

The streams of rain drops,
Look like diamond vines
Wish I could climb these vines and reach the sky.

Stanza 1:

If you happen to fall on a flower
You emerge as the nectar in it.
If you happen to fall on a sea-shell
You emerge as a pearl.
If you happen to fall on the roots of crops
You emerge as grains.
As you happened to fall in my sight,
You bloomed as a piece of poetry.

This is a giant shower created by Mother Nature
If you don't get drenched at this age, when will you?
This wonderful rain...
The one which came to me and proclaimed "her" virginity.

Stanza 2:

The rain brings poetry along with it,
Do not close your doors to it.
Do not show a black flag to the rain
By opening your umbrella when it rains.
The rain is a gift of the angel,
Do not turn your face to it.
You do not need anybody's permission
To get drenched on the highways.

Why do you refuse to get drenched in this milk of the clouds?
By doing so you are wasting a good part of your life.
When you close your eyes and get dissolved in the rain
you will be able to experience "heaven" on earth.
